Key sprinkler, Originally
Stacha Sprinkler, was founded in 1970 after Joe H. Key bought the company
from a fellow DPS officer, Ed Stacha. Joe H. Key, also known as Mr. Key,
started operating Stacha Sprinkler in 1967 when He and Ed both made sergeant.
The DPS had a policy that if you were promoted, you could not supervise
your current fellow patrolman. So Ed had to move to Dallas, Mr. Key who
lived in Wichita Falls had to move to Austin.
We were originally located on Lamar. Just around the corner from Z-Waterworks
. We moved to our current location at 408
W. Braker Lane in 1973.
